Hi there! I’m Jessica Seewer, the owner and photographer behind Edelwood Photography. Pronounced eh-dull-wood, this name is deeply personal to me. I chose Edel to honour the edelweiss flower, a cherished symbol of my birthplace in the Swiss Alps where I was born and raised. The wood represents the beautiful, wild forests of British Columbia, the incredible place I’ve grown up and am proud to call home.
As a dual citizen, my roots have shaped so much of who I am; blending European charm with West Coast spirit. I wanted my brand to represent both where I come from and where I’ve built my life, serving as a way to honour that connection while capturing meaningful, genuine moments for others.
My love for photography started when my uncle shared his work with me and took me into Vancouver for a day of experimenting behind the lens. I was instantly hooked. Not long after, I saved up for my first DSLR and dove headfirst into photography through my high school course. Life, as it does, got busy and my camera eventually found a quiet spot on the shelf. But years later, I picked it back up, reminded of how much joy it brought me, and decided it was time to truly give this passion the space it deserved.
That decision led to the creation of Edelwood Photography, and I couldn’t be more excited for where this journey continues to take me. Thanks for being here, I’d be honoured to help capture a piece of your story next.
How long will it take to get my photos?

What are your travel fees?
Following your session, you can expect to receive your fully edited, completed gallery within approximately 2–3 weeks. I take great care in thoughtfully curating and editing each image to ensure the final collection reflects the quality and experience you deserve. You’ll receive a small selection of sneak peek images within 48 hours of your session - offering an early look at some highlights from your shoot while the full gallery is being prepared.
Weddings aren’t typically a service I offer, but I have photographed a small, intimate ceremony in the past. While I don’t currently book traditional full-day weddings, I’m always open to a conversation about capturing special moments at smaller gatherings, this includes elopements!
If we’ve planned a session with multiple locations, I’m happy to accommodate as long as the locations are within a reasonable distance from one another and a travel fee may apply. Please note that a travel fee may also apply for sessions outside of Vancouver, Delta, Surrey, or Langley. Once your locations are confirmed, any applicable travel fees will be clearly communicated ahead of time so there are no surprises. I’m always happy to discuss options and find the best locations to bring your vision to life.

Living on the West Coast, we know the weather can be unpredictable but that doesn’t mean it has to get in the way of a great session. If the forecast turns unfavourable on the day of your outdoor shoot, I’m always happy to pivot the direction of our session with a moodier, more romantic feel if you’re open to it. Alternatively, we can reschedule for a clearer day. I’ll gladly work with you to find a new date within two weeks of your original session to ensure you get the experience and results you’re hoping for.

A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your session date and is applied toward your total session cost. I understand that plans can change, so you’re welcome to reschedule your appointment up to 3 days before your scheduled date without penalty. If a session is rescheduled within less than 3 days' notice, the deposit will be forfeited and a new deposit will be required to book a new date. This policy helps ensure fairness to all clients and keeps the booking process running smoothly.
